Therapeutic Day Treatment

Therapeutic Day Treatment (TDT) is a school-based counseling program for children and adolescents who are considered to be at risk for removal from the school due to serious deficits in social skills, peer relations, or dealing with authority; are hyperactive or have poor impulse-control; or other mental health needs that are negatively affecting school performance. TDT services provide an individual with a counselor who carries a caseload of only six clients at a time. The client receives daily classroom support, individual interventions, and group interventions. The program focuses the specific needs of the child or adolescent using pro-social skills curriculums and interventions such as problem-solving, improved peer and teacher interactions, anger management, and impulse control education. In addition, TDT counselors are trained to provide on-site crisis response. ‚Äč
